Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills receives the top national honor for nursing
Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills announced on June 30 that it has been awarded the highest national honor for nursing, the Magnet with Distinction, chosen by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The San Fernando Valley hospital joins less than 1% of hospitals in the U.S. that have been awarded this recognition.
“Magnet recognition is the gold standard for nursing excellence,” said Woodland Hills Medical Center Chief Nurse Executive Greg Rogers, in a prepared statement. “We’re grateful for the incredible dedication of our nurses who worked diligently to achieve this well-deserved recognition.”
According to Kaiser Permanente, the aim of this award is to recognize organizations that have achieved the top level of nursing excellence while facing new challenges and changes in health care.
Michell Gaskill-Hames, president of Kaiser Permanente Southern California and Hawaii, Health Plan and Hospitals, said in a prepared statement that the honor, “reflects a culture where nurses are empowered, collaboration is prioritized and the highest standards are not just met, but exceeded.”
