Police search for man suspected of shooting the driver who plowed into a crowd outside of East Hollywood music venue
Police have identified a man suspected of shooting a driver who plowed into a crowd outside of an East Hollywood music venue in July.
Authorities are asking the public for help in locating Efrain Villalobos, a 28-year-old resident of Lawndale, according to a news release.
On Saturday, July 19, Fernando Ramirez, 29, drove into a crowd outside of The Vermont Hollywood that left 37 people injured, and has since been charged with 37 counts of attempted murder. A previously unidentified person shot him afterwards. Ramirez has an extensive criminal history in Orange County.
Villalobos faces felony charges in connection with the shooting of the driver. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
In the news release, the Los Angeles Police Department urged residents to call 911 if they spot Villalobos.
