Shooting outside Newhall restaurant is under investigation
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting outside a popular restaurant in Newhall.
Deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station responded at 9:30 p.m. Thursday to Las Originales Mexican Bar and Grill at 23630 Newhall Ave. regarding a call of multiple shots fired. When they arrived at the scene, deputies did not find any victims but did find several shell casings outside the restaurant, Deputy Daniel Dominguez told City News Service.
Investigators later learned a victim — possibly wounded in the shooting — took themselves to a hospital, where they were in an unknown condition, Dominguez said.
There was no known motive for the shooting and no suspect description.
